Two-year-old Class Curriculum
The two-year-old program is designed to delight and guide the child
in a way that develops social and perceptual skills. It is structured
to provide a setting in which the child can participate in simple
activities and develop a sense of fun through shared experiences.
The program is flexible, warm, and nurturing, ever
mindful of the changing needs of the children. Activities focus on body
expression and control, social awareness, cognitive activities,
language development, and emotional development.
The following is a guide of proposed topics by month. Topics may
change depending on the needs of the class.
September: get acquainted, house and family.
October: animals, farm, pets, zoo, circus.
November: food and nutrition, tableware, fruits and vegetables, bread, dairy, Thanksgiving.
December: holidays, giving and sharing, holiday sounds, Hanukkah, Christmas.
January: transportation, cars, busses, trains, trucks, boats, planes, winter.
February: shapes, Valentine's Day, instruments, parades.
March: weather, nursery rhymes.
April: spring, spring holidays, planting flowers, feelings.
May: colors, alphabet,
senses, summer.
Fees
For the 2008-2009 school year, tuition can be paid annually in June
($1,466), or quarterly in June, November, and February ($493 x 3), or
monthly in June and September to April ($166 x 9). There is a $75
non-refundable application fee, and a $50 meeting deposit (returned if
at least three out of four general meetings are attended and the
parents duties have been fulfilled). There is a fee of $3 per day that
two-year-olds stay for lunch bunch. Tickets for lunch bunch can be
purchased in the business office or at General Business Meetings.
